We have obtained approval from the Ministry of Education for additional spaces under toddlers program, and the Director’s approval for mixed-age enrolment, as per Ministry directives aligned with the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014. Subject to parental consent and the suitability of the child, we can accept a limited number of infants aged 12 months and above in our junior toddlers classroom.

In response to overwhelming demand during our first month of operation, particularly for toddler and senior infant spaces, we requested an expansion of our licensed capacity for toddlers and infants by adding 30 toddler and 9 senior infant spots through alternative capacity in our Preschool classrooms.

Joyful Robins Childcare Centre applied to join the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) Program through Halton Region for 2025. While we successfully met all eligibility conditions, our application was not approved due to:
– No new CWELCC spaces are being allocated to Halton for 2025–2026 by the Ministry.
– A significant shortage of federal and provincial funding for child care spaces across Ontario.
– Halton Region’s existing demand-to-supply ratio of 5:1 for CWELCC placements.
– The Ministry’s current prioritization of not-for-profit operators in new space allocations.
However, our application remains under consideration should additional spaces become available—either through centres exiting the program or further allocations by the Ministry.
